Tucked away in the Royal Palms Hotel and Spa (see), this jewel of a restaurant is stylishly decorated with deep cherry wood, hand-painted Italian frescos, and artisan-carved and painted wooden shelves. The menu has a decidedly Mediterranean slant and includes dishes inspired by Spain, Tuscany, and the south of France, accented with Arizona’s regional flair. Ingredients are organic whenever possible, and the kitchen has a knack for preparing simple yet elegant plates that easily inspire love at first bite. For those who enjoy a stogie and whiskey as well as a terrific meal, T. Cook’s Cigar Room is luxuriously appointed with deep red, custom-made leather upholstery and antique lamps, making it the perfect place to unwind after a long day. A guitarist performs on Sundays and Mondays, and a pianist and vocalist perform the rest of the week.
