Located in the foothills of the Sonoran Desert just north of Scottsdale, the Boulders
Resort and Golden Door Spa blends perfectly with the surrounding rock outcroppings,
ancient boulders and saguaro cactus plants. The adobe casitas are distinguished
by overstuffed leather chairs, exposed beams and Mexican tiles, while one-, two- and
three-bedroom Pueblo Villas are ideal for families. The resort boasts a first-rate tennis
facility and an 18-hole championship golf course. There’s also rock climbing, hiking
and tours of Native American cave dwellings and ruins. Guided night hikes using
night vision equipment are especially fun. Note that the resort is scheduled to undergo
renovations in 2009, but will continue to accommodate guests throughout the year.
