Zambra tapas means food in small portions—like appetizers. Guests are each encouraged to order something different on the menu and then share their dish with other guests around the table. The staff will happily advise guests on which wine to choose to go along with their dishes. The décor is excitingly eclectic, with exposed vent pipes overhead, bright colors on the walls, booths with colorful throw pillows, an open display kitchen, and a bar area with stenciled vine scenes on the ceiling and stenciled leaves on the floor. Areas offering a more intimate atmosphere are separated by irregular-cut concrete walls. Located right off Interstate 240, it is in the heart of downtown Asheville, within walking distance to quaint shopping and lodging establishments.
